Is The Flotilla Story About Perception Or Reality?

“The bid to shape global perceptions by portraying the Palestinians as victims of Israel  (my emphasis) was the first prong of a longtime two-part campaign. The second part of this campaign involved armed resistance against the Israelis.”

—  Stratfor (George Friedman) cited by John Mauldin’s Outside the Box

My Comment

Nice try. But the Palestinians ARE victims of the Israelis. The problem is not that the Israeli’s haven’t done a good enough job with their public relations work or their “image” problem. It’s that despite all their image-building and PR (hasbarah) efforts, and the lack of an equivalent propaganda effort on the other side, the public has caught on to the reality. That the truth has come out is not due to propaganda by Palestinians. But because of the dedicated efforts of underfunded or unfunded activists, most of them motivated by humanitarianism. Quite a different thing.

But then, Stratfor, while reliable on some facts, is heavily dominated by the outlook of the Israeli intelligence….which is also the outlook that dominates the financial industry. Which makes perfect sense. Since the financial industry is largely dominated by the Jewish community. That means that on Wall Street Stratfor’s version is taken as gospel.

Here’s the genuinely libertarian position:

“The Israeli government explains that it had to kill innocent people because they defended themselves when attacked.” —  Roderick Long, “The Logick Of Kings”

  1. more crap from the victim lady. here is the bottom line of REALITY…and i say this to YOU so YOU can stop living YOUR life as a victim

    and that is…..

THE ONLY REASON the usa lives in peace is because it has credible second strike capability. PERIOD.
that is probably true for most countries. to the extent israel can convince the world that it too has 2nd strike capability, perhaps it can leave in peace with its bully neighbors.

but i posted the following idea once before and u did not understand it then and i will try again…the fear is that iran does not “follow” the Mutual Assured Destruction paradigm but instead falls into the husband murders wife then commits suicide paradigm.

if israel is pushed i am sure it will do a pre-emptive nuclear strike against iran.
    and IT will have peace.

  2. “Victim lady” ? Did I use any personal invective? Facts and argument please.

Show me where any country besides Israel and the US has coined a term like “anti-Semite/anti-American” to negate legitimate criticism?

  3. Also – regarding your piece, anticivilization:

    1. Who destroyed the great libraries and museums of Bagdhad? Not Muslims.

    2. Who starved a million children in Iraq during sanctions? Not Muslims.

    3. Who imprisoned a million people on their own soil? Israel

    4. Who forges passports from other nations to commit assassinations on third parties that will be blamed on those nations?
    Israel.

    5. Who flouts international law routinely?

    The US and Israel

So would you call that behavior civilization…or anticivilization?

Which countries are practically the center of the drug and porn trade in the western world?
    Need I ask?

Which financial system has been selling bogus investments all over the world, stealing from millions of honest people, and operating with complete license in defiance of any kind of ethics or law?

    Need I ask?

Don’t blame the dark fruits of empire on the victims of it.
